This artificially assembled collection consists of typescript drafts and handwritten fragments of a paper written about Gertrude Stein, by an unidentified author. Also included in the collection are bibliographic references, press cuttings about Stein's life and works, and 70 photographs, some annotated in French by Stein, including photos of herself, Georges Hugnet, and Eugene Berman, taken at her summer home in Bilignin near Belley, France. In addition are two letters from Stein to Mrs. Knopf.

Gertrude Stein (b. February 3, 1874, Allegheny, PA-d. July 27, 1946, Neuilly-sur-Seine, France) was an American novelist, poet, playwright, and art collector.
